Expertise Needed

Any speech pathology experts out there? In the last week or so, Andrew is now pronouncing any word that ends with an "n" with an added "t" sound. For example one, mine, seven, down, is now pronounced onet, minet, sevent, downt. He is very consistent. When I correct him, he'll say the correct pronunciation, but in normal conversation, he'll add the "t". Anyone heard of this? It's driving me crazy!

I wouldn't worry about it. I seem to remember Julia doing something like that. It's just overgeneralization. He's recently discovered that some words end in "nt", so he's overgeneralizing and temporarily applying it to all words with "n" at the end. I'm not a speech expert, but I have a masters in elementary ed. Hope this helps!

One more thing...You don't have to correct him, just model the correct pronunciation. For example, if he says, "I want to get downt," you could say, "Oh, you want to get down?"
