Well, in Josh's eyes I am. The kid can't get enough of me! To prove it, he crawls in bed with me in the middle of the night. He hops out of his bed during naps & bedtime about 15,000 times a day - just to be in the presence of my company. And when I have the audacity to pay attention to something other than him (like making dinner, talking on the phone, etc.), he stands right on my feet and clamors for my undivided attention.
p.s. thankfully, he has an understanding Daddy that takes this little creature off my hands from time to time so I can BREATHE.
And more about the sleep thing...
Locking the bedroom door is just not an option - left to his own devices, Josh would DESTROY his room. I thought about doing the crib tent. I'm not against them by any means, but I figure we'll be needing him to move to the toddler bed eventually, so let's just nip this "Jack-in-the-box" habit in the bud. We started to be consistent and it's working! Yesterday, for naptime, it took about 1 1/2 hours to get him to stay in bed and fall asleep, then bedtime about 1/2 hour. Today's naptime, he went to sleep right away and tonight it was about 15 minutes. Our tactic (which many parenting books suggest) is to put him to bed immediately when he jumps out. No eye contact, no talking, and gently put him back to bed. It's annoying and time-consuming, but hopefully, we'll get back to our pre-hopping-out-of-the-crib days. Wish us luck!

You finally got some posts up! The boys are looking so big, I can't wait to see you all next month.
Yay, you blogged! First, Disneyland makes my little heart melt, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it there! Second, Liam has been climbing out of his crib too... the first morning he came walking out all on his own he was literally beaming and Jake and I just looked at each other like "oh crap". Good luck with it, kind of glad I am not the only one working with this :)
I just read the other day about this, and you are doing exactly what my book says, so apparently it is the thing to do. I haven't gotten there, yet, but it is only a matter of time...
