Our Heathen Child

It all started innocent enough. Josh was with me at the fabric store and he started singing... "Book of Mormon Stories..Jesus Christ amen!" I thought he was funny and I laughed. He sang it a few more times until I started to sing with him the correct words. I don't know how why or when, but things just went downhill from there. He started saying, "Jesus Christ amen" at the end of every sentence. Then, he shortened it to just "Jesus" and made sure he squeezed it in somehow to every conversation. And now he's saying His name when he's frustrated or mad about something. Randy and I think it's kind of funny, but I'm starting to get worried - I have no idea what to do about it except to just ignore it (and try not to laugh). Any advice?

Makenna start saying OMG instead of gosh. She learned either from preschool or her older sisters. Anyways, I sat her down and explained that that made Heavenly Father sad and she hasn't done it since. I don't know if it will help or not. Good Luck.

At least he's not saying "poop" "fart" or "I like to move it move it" while shaking his bootie ten thousand times a day, because that's what we're dealing with over here...so no ideas, sorry! Saying "Jesus" seems like he's just experimenting with the reaction he gets from people, because he knows it's an important word.

LOL, kids are crazy... Liam too loves poop and fart, he knows he is saying a naughty word so I let him know, but Josh sounds like maybe he doesn't mean it to be naughty??? I think your ignoring may be all you can do :)
