Andrew's Baptism

"Recognize that the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction." M. Russell Ballard, "Daughters of God"

Today was one of those shining moments.  I wasn't prepared for how emotional I'd be, I can usually keep it together, but I was bawling.  The "ugly cry" came out.  I'm just glad I was sitting in the front row.  Grandpa Lamb gave the opening prayer, which started the water works.  Then Randy gave the talk about baptism.  (Andrew chose who he wanted to speak at his baptism)  At the end of his talk, he talked about how Andrew has the purest heart of anyone he knows (and I agree) and that his mom, dad and brothers need him in our family to teach us how to have a pure heart.  The baptism went well, he only had to be dunked one time.  Grandpa Lamb and Great Grandpa Scovil were the witnesses.  Then we showed a picture slideshow of Andrew while Randy and Andrew changed.   Grandma Lamb gave the talk about the Holy Ghost.  It was sweet and perfect.  She had Andrew stand up with her when she gave her talk and they talked about their Timpanogas Cave hike and it was cute how Andrew answered her questions.  Randy confirmed Andrew and in the blessing he talked about how Andrew could always have the Holy Ghost with him as he did certain things like scripture study and prayer.  I am grateful for the time and preparation Randy made - he did a great job and everything he said was perfect.  My boys are lucky to have him as their dad.  We have our family scripture study at the dinner table most nights and Randy always does a good job leading the discussion.  It doesn't take a lot of time or effort, but I see it making a difference in Andrew's life.  Andrew gave the closing prayer and he did a great job.  We had dinner at our home after the baptism.  It was a great day.
