....just tell Him your plans!
We got a fatherly pep-talk from our Bishop yesterday in Sacrament Meeting. Why? Because our ward, that once housed 50-60 families will soon become 30 families with few prospects of any additions. The Bishop told us that many of us would have multiple callings, that presidencies may need to operate with one less counselor, etc. Sheesh! And we thought we were taking the easy road by staying in student housing! The Bishop's words today were very comforting, though. This whole situation (a change in "vision" of the University's master plan) has stressed me out a bit (ok, a lot), but I think this small trial will put us to the test and show us what we're made of. Bring it on!

What did they change? I'm really curious. While we were there, they drastically changed the ward twice, so I can't imagine what they've done now! Are you losing everyone who doesn't live in Shoreline?
The Univ. of Utah changed their "vision" on what they want Shoreline to be. They want it to be for single undergrad and grad students. Over the past year, they've only rented Shoreline apartments to a few families, and we haven't seen any new families in the past 3 months. Bishop Ayres was supposed to be released this month, but he has been asked by the Stake to stay one year more until this all pans out. I imagine they'll change our ward boundaries if it gets too bad. The 2nd counselor in the Sk. Presidency is on the board of trustees at the University, and he's trying to see if this new policy can be changed...we'll just have to see. As you can imagine, we're all pretty upset about it b/c we love our little community.
